Anybody short on time? This is how I've been helping myself during the week. Save time and eat healthy. Food prep all at once for the week. It takes a couple of hours on one day, however, it saves time during the week. And if you think about all this time you have to go in and out in and out open containers during the week doing this individually, By doing everything all at once, you save time overall.
Start with cooking the meat, and now I cook everything that I buy all at once and then freeze whatever I don't use or have packed for the week. Therefore, you have something to just pull out of the freezer thaw and use for dinner..
While, that's going if you want boiled eggs. Start boiling water, once boiling, add a tablespoon or so of baking soda, And then add the eggs, boil for the amount of time for the hardness you want and then take them out and put in ice and cold water. This has really been working for me to be able to peel them pretty easily.
If you want to make Chia pudding, I use one cup of coconut milk. Half a cup of Chia seeds put them in a pint jar shake it shake it shake it, let it sit for a little bit and then shake it again, you can add blueberries and we like bananas as well, let that sit in the fridge, but shake it a few times so the seeds don't settle at the bottom and stay there.
While these things are going on you can be prepping all your vegetables. If you don't want to prep vegetables , get the pre cut ones.
I happen to have Mason jars, but you can use whatever container works best for you that you have, and that seals tight. So the dressing doesn't come out.
In your salad container, put in your dressing at the bottom. I use olive oil and some Italian seasoning, pick your favorite. Then you start layering the things that won't wilt in the dressing like your meat, carrots, harder vegetables and then start layering up until the top layer is your lettuce. Put the lid on, put it in the fridge. Make 5 or10 or however, many people you have and however, many lunches you need all at 1 time. Line up those jars And assembly line fill up.
Carrots and the avocado line up your containers , bags , whatever it is And fill all up For the number one did you need. Avocado always goes bad for me. So these little packets from Costco worked very well. I hate the plastic but it works great for my lunch, so I don't waste bad avocado.
For my morning shake , I pre measure all of my powders , protein , psyllium, spices , et cetera et cetera into these little containers , and now all I have to do is pull out one, dump it into blender and add my fruit veggies and I'm good to go.
How do you prep or save time with meals?
