More Than a Drive-By: Inviting the Right Volunteers into Your Impact
Have you tried to sell a house? Maybe it sold quickly, maybe it took awhile. Regardless, people will want to check it out and some will just drive by, some will sit on the porch a bit, some will come in for a nice bit and some will become residents in your home for a good long while. You won’t have every single person volunteer that looks at your application and process, even if it’s the best it can be. It just isn’t the right house for them and that’s ok. You want to make sure your house is the best is can be to welcome as many volunteers who are drawn to your cause/impact.
You want to remove as many barriers and “bad” construction as possible so it’s a great place to be for the volunteers who want to be there. Have you ever checked out a volunteer opportunity and they did all the right things but it just wasn’t for you? That’s ok! It will be great for the person that does love animals, or feeding people or educating kids in living history methods or whatever it is that you do. How is your house?
